Wow, it’s September already! My freakin’ goodness, where did time go?! I hope you all are doing safe and well. I’ve been blessed. I’ve also been designing. Can you believe that? ^_^ Looking at all the events that were to be launching this early September; I just had to get back into it. The themes are calling me, the colors are calling me…I just have to play!
I believe you’re here to play too yes? Most likely you’re here for this September’s Digi Scrap Parade blog hop. Yep, it’s that time again and would you know the theme is “Back At It”? You don’t say. lol…
I thought about designing back to school. I know many of us have kids going to the next level, some even college! I hadn’t created anything “school” related since my Silhouette cut file releases back in 2013! I would have done so again now. However, as Rain has some years yet to go before he starts, I thought I would make it about getting back to creating and doing what I love. So…with all that said, here is my contribution to this month’s DSP ^_^:
We have some papers and handwritten sentiments we all could work with I’m sure! You can take these sentiments and use them for all sorts of situations. I love universal essentials – can you tell? 🙂 This mini is a direct download freebie for you all. Right on.
There’s a modest group of us; only 10 including myself. Times are trying and priorities are in constant shift for us all. So please, have fun with everything these designers have brought to you guys! ‘And thanks to all that are participating in the Parade! If you’re following the blog hop from start to finish, you should have arrived here from Rachel Etrog Designs and your next stop will be Kim B. Designs. (I’m the lastly but not leastly on the list) If you get lost along the way, simply head back to the main DigiScrap Parade hub to view the master list and get back on track…thank you and enjoy!
UP FOR A CHALLENGE?
I was excited to find out that it’s my turn up for this month’s September Forum Challenges over at The Digital Press. I really wanted it to be more adventuresome. So, I created the Sans Photo Challenge! I had no idea, however, how challenging it would actually be! The rules are simple. No pictures, must include a noticeable number, must have journaling and the use of a frame. I even stated the frame could be dimensional or flat like a stamp. Below is a free stamp set I made to help with the challenge rules of including a frame. You may download it if you wish, enjoy!
Armed with my new stamp kit of goodness, I began working on knocking out my own challenge. I created this spread without a photo in site!
Ok, ok…not too bad lol! My real challenge was doing what I have been doing lately in my journals, the digital way. I’ve been putting down my stylus more and picking up my pencils & pens instead: writing, sketching, documenting…but to take that same flavor and make it a digital spread? Well, that was the challenging fun part (besides not being able to use photos, dude.)
As many of you know, I’m all about that realism. I’m about sharing my tips and techniques on how to get those awesome results as well ^_^. So, because I can never ask too many times who I’m talking to, let me know In the comments or via email if you would like to know some of my techniques used on the above spread! In between time, if you would like to join in on the challenge, please head on over to TDP forums and give it a-go! There are several other challenges that are going on right now too. Barbara Unzen already blew my mind with her take:
Hello? Alright then girl…alright then! [luv]
AUTUMN IS NEAR
Fall will be upon us in no time. Thank goodness as It’s my favorite season. Come on…coffees & cocoa, cooler days, yarn and pumpkin everything? What’s not to absolutely love? It’s also the season were we express our thanks. It’s a great time of year and I’m freakin’ stoked about it. I’m also excited about TDP’s September Special Edition colors this year. They got me so pumped to design some fall goodies. I got started and can not wait until the 3rd…Stay tuned!
